The Lynn Painter Stainers Prize 2015 is now open for entry with increased prize money!  The total prize value is now £30,000 making it one of the top Art Prizes in the UK.

What Is The Lynn Painter Stainers Prize 2015?

The Lynn Painter Stainers Prize 2015 is an annual art award that aims to encourage the best in creative representational painting and draughtsmanship.  The prize originates from a collaboration between the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers and the Lynn Foundation.

What Are The Lynn Painter Stainers Prizes?

First Prize of £15,000
5 Runner-Up Prizes of £1,500 each
Young Artist Award of £2,500 (For an artist who is 25 years of age or under)
Brian Botting Prize for Figurative Drawing of £5,000

The Brian Botting Prize will be awarded to an artist aged 30 or under for outstanding drawing of the human figure.  Brian Botting was Master of the Painter-Stainers’ Company from 2003-2004 and has kindly bequeathed this £5,000 annual prize.

The work will also be displayed in the Exhibition held at the Mall Galleries between the 16th– 21st February 2015.

Catharine Davison “The Craggs at Dawn”

 

Catharine Davison won the Lynn Painter Stainers Prize 2014 for “The Craggs at Dawn” created en plein air.  Catharine was awarded the £15,000 prize and an engraved gold medal.

Charlie Schaffer a University of Brighton student won the young artist award for his oil portrait of Antonio and the five runners up were David Tebbs, Craig Wylie, Peter Archer, Annabell Cullen and Benjamin Hope.

Who Can Enter The Lynn Painter Stainers Prize 2015?

All artists over the age of 18 can enter The Lynn Painter Stainers Prize 2015.  You must be resident in the UK.  The work must be original, two-dimensional, have been completed within the last three years and not previously exhibited.  Paintings and drawings will be accepted and all works must be for sale other than commissioned portraits.

How Do I Enter The Lynn Painter Stainers Prize 2015?

Artists can submit up to 4 works through an online entry process. Entry is £20 per work (£8 per work for students).

The deadline for the Lynn Painter Stainers Prize 2015 is Monday 8th December 2014 at 5pm.

Who Sponsors The Lynn Painter Stainers Prize 2015?

The Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers actively supports the art and craft of painting and are delighted to support this annual prize.

The Lynn Foundation very kindly contributes the annual prize money and an engraved gold medal for the first prize winner.  The Lynn Foundation is a charity devoted to children, the disabled, music and the arts.

The Lynn Painter Stainers Prize 2015 Exhibition will be held at the Mall Galleries between the 16th and 21st February 2015.
