ARThouse Open Studios 2014 – Celebrating Local Talent.
This summer over 500 artists will open their doors to the public with ARThouse, Richmond’s annual artists open studios event. This will be Richmond’s 16th open studios event and it will run from 27th June until 6th July.
ARThouse is open to all artists, designers and makers living or working within the borough of Richmond. It aims to promote the creative community and showcase the range of work produced by the local talent.
The festival has been coordinated by the Richmond Arts Service based at Orleans House Gallery. In partnership with Network, Richmond and West London’s arts magazine, ARThouse will feature an extremely diverse range of artists in equally diverse settings.
Jennie Ing’s colourful linocuts will be at the Fountain Gallery in Hampton Court and the Landmark Centre will be showing a selection of life drawing, photography and botanical art. See Kimm Stevens’ landscapes in charcoal and mixed media and Sandra Beccarelli’s abstract paintings.
The artists’ colony of Eel Pie Island in Twickenham will also be opening their doors for ARThouse. Take the opportunity to explore this magical island steeped in music and arts history. Pop in and see prints by Sarah Hubacher and paintings by Lee Campbell and Sue Knight.
Open Studios offer a great opportunity to meet the artists and see their work in their creative spaces. This could be in a garden, a café, a boathouse, a school or a church. Whether painting, photography, sculpture or jewellery is your thing there really is something for everyone. Go along to meet the artists and celebrate the creative talent we have right on our doorstep.
